It will be a newly-built circuit designed by Hermann Tilke, on Yas Island, about 30 minutes from the country's capital Abu Dhabi. Yas Marina will be the second Formula One track in the Middle East, with the first being in Bahrain. A GP2 test race will officially open the circuit, which will be held the week before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It will also host the opening event for the Australian V8 Supercars series in February 18-20 2010.
